Rape Crisis (England and Wales) is needed because most women and girls cannot access a local Rape Crisis Centre; so we are building a robust network of Centres across England and Wales to fill the gaps in provision.
We are needed to enable Rape Crisis Centres to continue to provide high quality local services to survivors, by quality assurance through accredited service standards and measuring service impact; building funding and commissioning capacity, infrastructure, and organisational capability, through web-based toolkits and accredited specialist sexual violence training programmes to increase the number of qualified local counsellors, advocates and helpline workers.
We are needed to provide a co-ordinating voice for the Rape Crisis movement, to influence local, regional, and national policy development, increase service provision, and challenge sexual violence by leading awareness-raising campaigns and providing a central source of accurate information to government, to member Centres, to the media and the public.
